It’s quite apt that our blog of the month for February is one which we adore so much – This Home Sweet Home. Samantha from This Home Sweet Home is based in Jersey in the English Channel and covers all manner of delightful ideas for home DIY, home décor and creative crafts.
Samantha’s blog mixes cosy contemporary styles with a sophisticated design edge, and there is an underlying Scandinavian influence and feel beneath many of her posts. She manages to balance personal posts alongside her chosen blogger features and crafty tutorials – there are even some delicious food entries too!
Our favourite posts include an indoor gardening DIY weekend project, ‘Spring in a pot’ whereby you can create your own little piece of the outdoors by planting bulbs in a pretty ribbon laden arrangement. The DIY weekend projects don’t just end there, they extend to tea towel table cloths, re-upholstering sofas and cushions and injecting life back into tired furniture by giving them a fresh lick of paint in inventive ways.
We also enjoy Samantha’s own guest blog features, such as her introduction to Marianne from Nordic Bliss, a Norwegian born blogger, who shares beautiful images from around her stunningly light and refreshing flat. The choices of guest bloggers really allow us to explore other tastes and styles to inspire and encourage us to be a touch more creative within our homes.
The photography displayed on This Home Sweet Home, is light, relaxed, spacious and inviting. We found ourselves just scrolling through page upon page of calming images which have inspired us to find our own pieces of furniture that could benefit from a little TLC.
