Q: Can this cabinet be recessed in to a wall?
A: None of our cabinets have been designed specifically to be recessed in to a wall. However, if you wire the cabinet to your main bathroom lighting circuit, so that the cabinet lights turn on/off with your main bathroom light, then it will be possible to partially recess the cabinet. If partially recessing your cabinet, it will not be possible to use the sensor switch to activate the lights.
Q: How do I activate the demister pad on the Hollis?
A: The demister pad is activated by a manual rocker switch, which is located on the edge of the cabinet door.
Q: Do I need to leave a clearance between the sensor switch and another surface?
A: Yes - we do recommend leaving a space of at least 15cm between the sensor switch and any adjacent wall/object as any obstructions can prevent the sensor switch from working to its full ability.
Q: What do you mean when you state the Hollis is IP44 rated?
A: IP rating stands for “ingress protection” and the numbers refer to the level of protection (from water, steam, dust). IP44 means that the product can be installed anywhere within bathroom zones 1,2 or 3. Zone 1 is the area above the bath to a height of 2.25m (7ft 4in) from the floor. If the light is 240v then a 30ma residual current device (RCD) must also be used to protect the circuit in this zone. Zone 2 is an area stretching 0.6m (1ft 11in) outside the perimeter of the bath and to a height of 2.25m (7ft 4in) from the floor. It is good practice to consider the area around the wash basin, within a 60cm (1ft 11in) radius of any tap to be considered as Zone 2. Zone 3 is anywhere outside Zones 1 & 2 and where no water is likely to be used.
Q: Will the Hollis arrive with me fully assembled?
A: Yes, the Hollis is fully assembled for your convenience.
