Types of light-up mirrors
The position of the lighting on an LED mirror changes the look, ambience, and functionality. Here's a quick guide to the types we offer.
-
Backlit bathroom mirrors: Light glows from behind the mirror, casting a soft halo effect that adds atmosphere and a sense of depth to any bathroom.
-
Edge-lit bathroom mirrors: LEDs run along the edge of the glass, delivering clean, focused light with a sharp, contemporary finish.
-
Front-lit bathroom mirrors: Light sits at the front of the mirror, providing bright, direct illumination that's ideal for tasks like applying makeup or shaving.
-
Hollywood mirrors: Bulb-edged and undeniably glamorous, these light-up mirrors bring a dressing-room feel to your bathroom or bedroom.

What shapes do your LED mirrors come in?
Our illuminated mirrors are available as rectangular, round, oval and pill-shaped, and arched designs, as well as portrait and landscape orientations. Round mirrors work beautifully above a single basin, while rectangular styles tend to suit longer vanity units. Alternatively, pill and arch shapes are a great way to add character without overpowering a smaller room.
Illuminated mirror sizes
Our LED bathroom mirrors range from compact 390mm x 500mm designs, ideal for cloakrooms and en suites, to statement 1000mm diameter round pieces. Popular mid-range options include 500mm x 700mm, 600mm x 800mm, and 600mm and 800mm diameter round formats.

Are LED mirrors energy efficient?
Yes. LED illuminated bathroom mirrors use significantly less electricity than traditional bulb alternatives, and they last far longer, too. If you're curious about the exact running costs, our blog post on whether LED mirrors use a lot of electricity breaks it all down clearly.
How to clean an illuminated bathroom mirror
Cleaning a bathroom mirror with lights takes a little more care than a standard mirror. The key is keeping moisture away from the electrics. Always switch the mirror off and allow it to cool before cleaning. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a gentle, non-abrasive glass cleaner. Never spray directly onto the mirror surface, and avoid getting liquid near the edges where the LEDs sit. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cloths can damage both the glass and the lighting components, so keep it simple.

How to install an LED mirror in a bathroom
Most of our LED bathroom mirrors are wall-mounted and come with a fixings kit and clear instructions. Before you start, check the wall type (stud, plasterboard, or solid masonry) so you can use the right fixings. Locate your studs or use wall anchors where needed, and use a spirit level to make sure everything sits straight. Check the mirror's IP rating before installation, too, as this tells you which bathroom zones it can safely be used in. Our guide to UK bathroom electrical zones and IP ratings provides more information on this.
How to wire an LED mirror in a bathroom
Most illuminated bathroom mirrors in our range are hardwired rather than plug-in, meaning they connect directly to your mains supply. This needs to be done by a qualified electrician, particularly in a bathroom environment where Part P building regulations apply. Some models in our battery-powered range are the exception. If you're unsure, always get a professional in.
What additional features do your light-up mirrors come with?
Our LED illuminated mirrors go well beyond basic lighting. Many models come with demisting pads to keep the glass clear after a shower, motion sensors that turn the light on and off automatically, and colour-changing LEDs to switch between warm and cool white. You'll also find options with integrated shaver sockets, Alexa compatibility, and even battery-powered designs that need no wiring at all.
