Black Bathroom Mirrors

Black mirrors work in a way that most finishes don't. A black frame adds definition ... to a wall, anchors the mirror as a deliberate design choice, and holds its own against bold tiles, dark grout and matte fixtures without competing with them. Whether you want a slim black frame, a deep-set surround, a backlit LED mirror or a fully featured illuminated option with demister and touch control, you'll find it here.

What interior styles suit a black bathroom mirror?

In a monochrome bathroom with white walls, black fixtures and dark grout lines, a black-framed mirror is the natural continuation of that palette. It sits purposefully rather than standing out. In a more industrial or warehouse-inspired bathroom with raw textures, exposed hardware, and concrete finishes, black adds to the scheme's toughness rather than softening it. It also works well in warmer, more eclectic bathrooms alongside natural stone, wood tones and warm metals, particularly in a matte black finish, which reads as more understated than gloss.

What types of black mirrors are available?

We stock black bathroom mirrors across two main categories, giving you a straightforward choice between a mirror with built-in lighting and one without.

      • Black illuminated mirrors have built-in LED lighting and need to be connected to mains power. These are the right choice if you want the mirror to act as a light source as well as a reflective surface.

Black non-illuminated classic mirrors have no electrical components and are fixed directly to the wall with no wiring required. They're the simpler, more straightforward option and suit bathrooms with good existing lighting.

What features do black mirrors come with?

For illuminated black mirrors, every model is mains-powered, IP44 rated, dimmable and touch-controlled. Most include colour-adjustable lighting, letting you switch between warm white and cool white to suit the task or time of day. Most models include a demister pad to keep the glass clear in steamy bathrooms. Several also include additional features worth noting, such as a backlit design, ambient lighting alongside the main LED strip, motion sensors, and shaver sockets.

For classic black bathroom mirrors, these offer clean, minimal and well-proportioned designs. You can also find deep-frame non-illuminated mirrors that offer a more visual black framed mirror and tilting mirrors that lets you adjust the angle of the reflection, useful in shared bathrooms or anywhere the fixed wall position doesn't suit your height.

What shapes are available in black?

We stock black mirrors across three shapes: rectangular, round and pill-shaped. Black rectangular bathroom mirrors are the most popular and suit the majority of bathroom walls. Black round bathroom mirrors soften a bathroom that has a lot of straight edges and work particularly well above a round or semi-recessed basin. Black oval and pill-shaped mirrors are tall and narrow with softly rounded ends, giving a contemporary feel that works well in portrait wall spaces.

What size black bathroom mirror do I need?

Our black bathroom mirrors cover a wide range of sizes, from compact options for cloakrooms through to large round and wide-format designs for bigger spaces:

      • 400mm x 600mm is the smallest rectangular size and works well in cloakrooms or narrow walls above small basins.

      • 500mm x 700mm is the most popular size across the range, it works above a standard single basin in most bathroom sizes.

      • 500mm x 800mm and 500mm x 900mm give extra height at a similar width, useful if you want more mirror surface on a narrower wall.

      • 600mm x 800mm is a generous size for a family bathroom or double-basin wall.

      • 1000mm x 600mm and 1200mm x 600mm are wide-format mirrors suited to larger bathrooms.

Will a black mirror make a small bathroom feel darker?

The frame colour has very little effect on how light or dark a bathroom feels, it's the mirror glass itself that reflects light and makes a space feel larger. A black framed mirror in a small bathroom can look striking and intentional rather than heavy, particularly a slim-frame model. If you're concerned about light levels, an illuminated black mirror adds its own light source and compensates for any darkness in the scheme.

Do black bathroom mirrors show water marks more than other finishes?

The frame itself, whether matte or gloss black, is generally no more prone to visible water marks than chrome or brass. The mirror glass will show splashes regardless of frame colour, as with any mirror. A quick wipe with a microfibre cloth keeps it looking clean.
